Tongfu

Today Ash Wednesday I will offer my mass for Tongfu Lin. Tongfu is Luis' classmate and very good friend since grade school days. He's in ICU now, in very serious condition and was supposed to have undergone surgery last night (no idea how he is at this very moment). During their chemistry lab the other day, he accidentally imbibed some drops of this very corrosive chemical (fabric disentigrates with a few drops!!). Luis isn't sure what it is..he says it's some acid or base that turns blue when mixed with water. Tongfu started coughing blood and was rushed to the hospital. When Luis told me about this yesterday I got so distraught. Maybe because Luis told me long ago that Tongfu too is the son of a single mom just like him. Gosh such a freak accident. Have been praying for him since last night. Offered one rosary. They were supposed to have some sort of 'role playing' where the flask was a magic potion or something..and the cork accidentally got off while Tongfu was supposedly 'drinking' the potion. Tongfu used to come to the house..I found it so cute that he was one of those very few chinese boys who still used chinese names and not names like Waldorf or Rossini or Bryce or similar.
