Gown...and friend

All the sosyaleras, fashionistas, party-istas, launch-istas, tatlerball-istas, cocktail-istas are in a tizzy because the 'social avalanche' has started.. of course if you attended the launch of T&C magazine last Wednesday where the MS and the PT people saw you (since they were ALSO there!), you cannot say no their forthcoming invites - not just for the cocktails/show-in-the-mall or tent variety but the biggies in the ballrooms as well -- PT on the 29th and MS on October 5. But before I go on, let me clarify that I am not a sosyalera, fashionista, or any ista ... I'm quite sure the invites are there solely because of the company I represent and the work that I do. And so ... I attend because of the company I represent and the work that I do. So there. The fact that this 'hired hand' gets to enjoy and have a blast each time is an added bonus (like last Wednesday!! Nothing like sipping champagne in your long gown while channeling Keira Knightly... and munching delicately on pritchon).

So. what to wear, what to wear. The annual T ball (hosted by PT magazine) is giving me a lot of stress. Marden Iglesias my dear dear friend with whom I've fought, made up, fought, made up again ever since we first met each other a decade and a half ago as long lost sisters-in-crime-and-some-common -experiences, is suggesting these spectacular very couture-ish 'book leaf' designs he presented during the 20th Anniversary Fashion Show of PMAP two weeks ago (where I was so very very proud of him as I think he was one of the superstars of the show. I'm saying this not just because he's my friend.) Posting his designs here.... I think the one pictured below is very Keira-ish. Actually, I'm posting only two because the third one is top top secret as that is the one Marden insists that I wear.


Of course a gown is just a gown. What will make it an absolutely sensational gown is that all important accessory called an 'escort' or a 'date' dangling from your arm ....someone who will stay unobtrusively in the background, simply labeled in the photo ops as 'and friend'.
